A failed check triggers up to two retries with a five-second pause before an incident opens. Most transient blips never become an alert.
Hourly DOWN throttling
While a monitor stays DOWN we re-alert at most once per hour. No 47 emails about the same outage — just a clean reminder until it’s back.
One recovery email
Exactly one RECOVERED notification is sent when the monitor flips back to UP, so you always have closure without a flood.
Tagged root causes
Every incident is auto-tagged — Connection Timeout, DNS Failure, SSL Error, HTTP 5xx — making it easy to spot whether the issue is yours or theirs.
Deterministic dispatch
Job IDs are built from monitor + minute window, so even if multiple schedulers fire, only one check runs per minute. No duplicate alerts ever.
Per-monitor isolation
Retries and throttling state are tracked independently per monitor. A noisy site can’t suppress alerts on a healthy one.
