Monitoring

SSL certificate monitoring.

Track expiry and chain validity — every check, every endpoint.

Every HTTPS monitor doubles as an SSL watch. We read the certificate on every check, store the issuer, valid-from / valid-until window, days remaining, and chain-trust status, and surface them on the monitor detail page with color-coded alerts as expiry approaches.

TLS protocols

Continuous certificate read

Every minute-cron HTTPS check captures the peer certificate via Node TLS — issuer, valid_from, valid_to, days remaining and chain-trust authorization status — straight into the monitor record.

Color-coded expiry warnings

A monitor surfaces SSL info in three tiers: green when 30+ days remain, amber inside 14 days, red when expired or chain validation fails. Spot risk before users do.

Inspects bad certs too

rejectUnauthorized is intentionally off when reading the cert, so you still get a parsed view of expired or self-signed certs instead of a black-box error.

Subject & issuer parsing

Stored issuer name (CN or O), valid window in ISO format, and a boolean valid flag combining hostname mismatch + chain trust + non-expiry — all queryable.

Recovery clearing

When a renewed certificate appears, the dashboard automatically reflects the new validity window on the next check — no manual refresh, no stale state.

Companion free tool

Use the public SSL certificate check tool to inspect any host on demand, including its negotiated TLS protocol, cipher and full issuer chain.
